COMPANY PROFILE
Dave Tyner has provided customized commercial insurance risk management
services to major governmental and private entities, including King County,
METRO, Starbucks Coffee Company, Bank of America, the Seattle Monorail
Project, as well as major non-profit social service agencies. His firm TYRISCO
Inc., has formed a “strategic alliance” with Brown and Brown, the 6th largest
Insurance Broker in the Unite States and in 2007, was appointed to AIG’s
National Minority Broker’s Board.

In 2002 and 2003, he was recognized for his leadership as a Risk Management
Advisor to the University of Washington’s BEDP Program. In 2003, he received
the John A. Gillmore Award from the Northwest Minority Business Council for
his effort in promoting minority business and served on the Mayor of Seattle’s
Small Business Task Force from 1999 to 2002. In July of 2004, Governor Gary Locke appointed Dave as Commissioner to the state of Washington Commission on African American Affairs and continued service under Christine Gregorie until his term ended in 2006. Tyner’s role as Chair of Economic Development for King County allowed him to better understand and serve the needs of small businesses.

Dave is the Founder and the past President of The Tabor 100, Co-Founder, past
Chair, and current Vice-Chair of African American Partners for Prosperity (AAPP).
Tyner currently serves the Seattle Chamber of Commerce as a Board Member,
Board of Trustees.

Tyner is a former U.S. Air Force non-commissioned officer with 12 years service.
He earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, and has disabled vetern status.
